Direct TV NFL Sunday Ticket and the Washington Redskins
The Washington Redskins is one of the NFL’s premier teams, estimated to be worth over one billion dollars and also one of the most financially successful teams, raking in about $300 million dollars a year. Last year they improved upon their miserable 2006 performance and achieved a 9-7 record along with a playoff appearance. Now in their 76th season, the team looks to new direction. Jim Zorn is the new head coach and since he was previously serving as the team’s offensive coordinator look for the Redskins to play a more offensive-oriented game in the future. The draft pick revealed some interesting choices for Washington. Wide receiver Devin Thomas from Michigan State was chosen first, followed by tight end Fred Davis and wide receiver Malcolm Kelly. Other picks were Chad Rinehart, Justin Tryon, Durant Brooks, Colt Brennan, Kareem Moore, Rob Jackson and Chris Horton.
Acclaim for Devin Thomas was high, since this player seemed more like a first round pick in ability. His combination of athletic prowess and size should work well with the team, even if he’s not exactly starting material just yet. Malcolm Kelly caused some concern among purists for his health and professional reputation, but again, for a second round pick, he was a steal, problems and all. The final picks didn’t quite have the impact that Washington fans had hoped for, but all in all the team did a good job of reinforcing its game play. Remember that Washington is a team that doesn’t have a lot of holes still unattended, nor is it one that performed badly in 2007. Don’t underestimate Washington in 2008—a team that quickly sells out tickets for good reason.
