Here's the extra point... Football season starts this Thursday! Wooh Hoo! For Gang Green it's Sunday at 1pm versus the Miami Dolphins. Much respect to the Tuna but he and the rest of the fish are going down. Let's face it WE OWN THE DOLPHINS! Are you kidding me.....12 and 4 against the fins since 2000. This year we have Nombre Quatre. Brett "The Jet" Favre. For all those who doubt the impact he'll have hear this! Favre had his third highest QB rating of his career both regular season and playoffs last year. He also helped the Packers post the third-best single-season marks in franchise history for total of 5932 net yards and 435 points raking the cheese heads the number 2 NFL offense. In short, it's going to be on and popping in the Meadowlands this season and I ain't talking about the GIANTS! .....It's Good!

So the 2008/2009 football season starts Sunday 9/7 at 1pm for Gang Green!  This year we’ll be fielding an offense led by a guaranteed first ballot hall of fame candidate in Brett Favre, a defense that struggled last year but is expected to improve with the addition of Kris Jenkins in the middle of the defensive line and special teams with the return specialist Leon Washington.  We were 4-12 last season but there will be a huge difference this season.  The last time the N.Y. Jets was 4-12 (2005) we followed it up with a 10-6 (2006) season and a trip to the post season.  So Fireman Ed, look forward to leading the Jet faithful in war chant come January 2009.

Will Favre be a big deal?  You bet!  Understand that Favre is coming off of his third best season of his 17 year career in the NFL in 2007.  He posted a 95.7 QB rating last year which landed him 6th in the NFL, 4155 yards which landed him 4th in the NFL and 28 TD’s which landed him tied for 6th in the NFL not to mention completing 66.5% of all his passes.  People lie, numbers don’t.  This guy can play.  His confidence is at an all-time high after taking the Pack one step away from the Super Bowl last year.  How grand would taking that extra step be this year?
