Santana Moss

30 March 2009

Ah, the preseason, the time of year that aspiring undrafted and late-round rookies hope to make a team.  How often does this happen?  More NOT often than not, undrafted rookies have a smaller chance at making the team than Dan Snyder does at having the economy problem affect him.  Yes I know, Stephon Heyer made the team as an undrafted rookie from Maryland.  He was the only Redskins exception in who knows how many years.  Haha, yea I know I'm a freakin blogger and I should know when right? WRONG!  My job is not to throw numbers out there, its to write what I think, and what I gather talking to the real fan on the streets.

ve side which should balance the aforementioned offensive changes.  Names like Clinton Portis, Santana Moss, Chris Cooley, and Antoine Randle-El are all big-play makers in their own right which has many fans feeling very confused about how the offense ranks 28th in the league in average points per game.  The only 4 teams with a lower average are Detroit(0-12), Oakland(3-10), St. Louis(2-10), and Cincinnati(1-10) respectively.

Really for no other reason than to say "I told you so" in the future, I want to express my firmly held belief right now that Jason Campbell is the real deal.  He's the second coming of Donovan McNabb, but with more of a competitive fire within (something you can develop playing at Auburn, as opposed to Syracuse).  I am fully confident that he will be an elite quarterback for the better part of the next decade, which will keep the Skins in the division and conference race almost every year.  Really it's good we have someone to match the suddenly impressive Eli Manning.  Nothing Campbell showed in 06 and 07 has led me to think otherwise.

As for Wide Receiver, it would be nice if our receivers could stay healthy.  Santana Moss misses significant time each year.  I love Antwaan Randle El, but he is not a number on
