Hey all, I just wanted to take a second and devote a post to a fantastic fan site about the best team ever: hailredskins.com.

I don't know how many people like to discuss things on forums and the like, but I personally have found the members of hailredskins to be courteous, honorable, and upstanding people. You can chat about any issue regarding the skins over there, as well as commenting on my blog, which I know you are tempted to do RIGHT NOW. As a Kansas resident, I've found it hard to find people with a similar mindset when it comes to favorite teams, thus HR has been a safe haven for me, keeping me away from those nasty chiefs junkies that run rampant here.

So if you would like to voice your opinion on the issues, since you can't have your own blog or anything, definitely check out hailredskins.com!

Marcus Washington posted on 09/30/2008
After days of celebrating our awesome victory over dallas, one thing i'd like to address is the poor play of lb marcus washington. He was completely invisible on run coverage, shying away from physical contact, and absolutely terrible in pass defense. I doubt that he has even amassed a single pass deflection in four games. After speaking with a few fellow redskins fans, it became clear that he is no longer a starting quality linebacker for this team. I personally would like to see more play from H.B. Blades, our late round choice and college stud, even if he is a little too short to cover some tight ends. At least he would be playing the run well, and with the passion that we used to see come from Washington. Marcus was beat several times by Jason Witten on key plays, including a touchdown

Braves on the warpath!! posted on 09/28/2008

woooohooo!!! We WON! Jason Campbell was super-cool under pressure, making some FANTASTIC plays to get us in the end zone. Unfortunately the referees robbed us BLIND of those touchdowns with a completely bogus holding call followed by a legit but irrelivent blocking downfield call on the ensuing play! I loved watching every second of this game though, there was great football played by two great teams.

Another story would be Chris Horton coming up with his THIRD interception this year to stop a huge drive late in the game! This kid is a ball hawk and we absoluetly have to find a way to get him on the field. London Fletcher and Rocky McIntosh were fantastic stopping the run, as Marion Barber was stopped all day long, his longest run being under 12 yards. One thing that I loved was that we won with Romo passing the football all the time. He had 45+ pass attempts this game in a close contest, and still defended the pass stoutly with a Reed Doughty in most of the game! TO also had under a hundred yards receiving, largely due to Landry playing between people and Shawn Springs keeping him on LOCKDOWN in man-to-man.

At the half: a team coming into its own posted on 09/28/2008

Before the "Dallas is the best team in the history of football" annointment cerimony, there was some football being played believe it or not. And the Skins came out to play! We had a very good first drive of 45 yards before stopping ourselves, but luckily we became the first team this season to stop dallas from scoring on their first possession.

So far we have dominated the cowboys pretty much in all phases of the game. Jim Zorn has called a damn-near perfect game, which has included a plethora of slants, hitches, drags and the like on the way to 17 points. The offensive line has been blocking very well, and Campbell has been working exponentially better with the time he has to work with. Clinton Portis has been running hard as usual, and I expect to see him carry the ball more in the second half. With all of this production we have been keeping great control of the clock, especially in the second quarter where the cowboys barely had a two minute offense.

Defense posted on 09/24/2008

The D did a solid job of containing the passing game of the cardinals. Warner was only sacked twice all game, however he was taken out of rhythm enough for us to scrape out another W. The run D was concerning because wee let a mediocre line make lanes for an aging back, but when it counted we took charge and stopped em every time. Rocky McIntosh is blossoming into an excellent OLB, and Kedric Golston is performing better week in and week out. I hope to see more from Anthony Montgomery as well as he continues to heal. Andre Carter is really playing well, stopping the run decently and also rushing the passer. Though Jason Taylor didnt record a sack, he had two critical passes defended on a goalline stand in the game.

As I saw Larry Fitz run by our secondary on a simple post route, a thought came to mind: REPLACE REED DOUGHTY! The guy is a special teamer, plain and simple. Against the Saints Chris Horton showed us that he has untrainable ball skills, and if ya got two scrubs... at least play the better scrub. I really don't know what doughty has done to earn a starting role, he came in as a band-aid for an injured secondary and played only decent. Chris Horton plays one game and is responsible for more turnovers than doughty's entire carreer! Let the children play, as santana says, PUT IN THE KID!
